The Jehovah’s Witnesses have changed their blood policy again. In the September 18, 2026 Governing Body Update #6, Jehovah’s Witnesses announced a major adjustment concerning blood components. Members are now told that accepting or donating red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma, and platelets is a matter of personal conscience. But there is an important distinction: The organization says its prohibition on whole-blood transfusions remains unchanged. So what actually changed?
