Jehovah's Witness Stepfather Trial | His Congregation Still Stands By Him??

A Jehovah's Witness man accused of sexually abusing two young boys over a period of years had his trial delayed for the fourth time today. The trial date of September 29, 2026 was pulled from the calendar, with another readiness hearing set for October 27 and the trial itself now likely pushed to spring 2027. The boys' mother has been fighting for this case since 2019. A grand jury indicted in November 2024. In this episode of Best Life After, I take you to the courthouse before and after the readiness hearing. I explain what a readiness hearing is in an Oregon criminal case, why judges grant continuances even when it devastates victims' families, and what I saw when the hearing ended: the accused standing thirty feet down the hallway while the mother of the survivors held herself together in tears. I also break down the part that matters most for anyone who has left the Jehovah's Witnesses. The accused walked into that courtroom with his family, including his regular pioneer mother, sitting behind him. Active Witnesses in good standing still follow him on social media. Leave the organization or criticize it and you are shunned by your own family as an apostate. Get accused of child sexual abuse with multiple witnesses and the congregation stands by you. That double standard is why this podcast exists. We are not naming the accused, the case, or the courthouse. The mother of the survivors asked us to hold those details until the case is resolved so that supporters, however well meaning, do not show up and disrupt the proceedings. We are honoring that request. At just 14 years old, Christina was pressured into baptism and expected to make what she describes as an adult, lifelong commitment. Eventually, Christina was disfellowshipped after refusing to continue living according to the organization’s expectations. Jehovah's Witness MANDATE: PREACHING?

Is door-to-door preaching a requirement for every Christian? The Bible tells Christians to preach—but does it require one specific method for everyone? For more than 30 years, I went door to door. I took my children with me, prepared presentations, and genuinely believed I was doing exactly what Jesus commanded. But eventually I had to ask a simple question: Where does the Bible say that every Christian must participate in an organized, door-to-door preaching program? The Bible absolutely talks about preaching, teaching, making disciples, and even teaching “from house to house.” So this video isn't about pretending those Scriptures don't exist. Instead, we're going to look at the difference between: SCRIPTURE → PRINCIPLE → INTERPRETATION → ORGANIZATIONAL APPLICATION We'll examine Matthew 28, Luke 10, Acts 5, Acts 20, James 3, 1 Corinthians 12, 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. What about different Christian gifts? Is everyone expected to be a teacher? What about children participating in the ministry? And what happens when Christian service becomes an organized system of territories, schedules and reporting? Jesus said: “I want mercy, and not sacrifice.” So where does biblical Christian service end—and organizational requirement begin? I'm not asking you to replace the Watchtower with Vern. I'm asking you to open the Bible and examine the reasoning for yourself. SHOW ME THE VERSE. SHOW ME THE REASONING. THINK FOR YOURSELF.
