I think those with a certain bust-age (myself included) might not find this 1974 #YSL evening dress very containing. I do love the nonchalant wrap and drape of red silk, however, with the band of gold at the neck #museumatfit #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

Cocktail dress, Yves Saint Laurent (for Dior), 1960 This one was made for the Japanese market, which I think comes across quite strongly in the embroidery. The 'zouave' overskirt (a new term to me!) was apparently a characteristic of YSL's designs. #dresshistory #fashionhistory #ootd #dior #ysl
Strapless cocktail dress, made in orange rayon woven with large gold and silver polyster details in a pine motif. The under skirt is straight cut, but the dress has a large 'zouave' overskirt, to hem length at the rear and sides, and just below hip length at the front. The dress is completed with a small gold bow at the waist.
