Dr. Adam Ratner details the history of #measles, a virus that’s often a bellwether for public health disasters. “When we forget, measles thrives. The best and the worst thing about #vaccination is that it makes nothing happen.” www.latimes.com/science/s….

Oh hey, lookie here RFK Jr—the “CDC estimates that influenza #vaccination prevented 📌9.8 million influenza-related illnesses, 📌4.8 million medical visits, 📌120,000 influenza-related hospitalizations, & 📌7,900 influenza-related deaths” in 2023-2024. ➡️Maybe don’t block flu vaccine production? 🙏

The brave little boy having one of the first polio vaccines is me. At school I recall two pupils who had leg calipers because of #polio caught before they could be vaccinated and there even was an iron lung for emergency use. #Vaccination saves lives

“When you're infected with #measles, your #immune system abruptly forgets every pathogen it's ever encountered before – every cold, every bout of flu, every exposure to bacteria or viruses, every #vaccination. The loss is near-total and permanent.” If you are #antivax, you are courting death.

The race to understand 'immune amnesia'

The return of #measles is an outbreak of failure. Ontario alone has the biggest measles outbreak in North America, 1,383 cases. Per capita, that's 21X worse than the U.S.: Globe and Mail editorial www.theglobeandmail.com/o…. via @theglobeandmail.com #vaccination

Vaccination rates have been falling for years, but Ontario and Alberta are only reacting now that it’s too late

Personal beliefs do not supersede the public good - and #vaccination is a public good. Why do we have 'religious and philosophical' exemptions for vaccines, a policy that harms children? by @picardonhealth.bsky.social www.theglobeandmail.com/o…. @theglobeandmail.com #measles #bioethics

Ontario’s vaccine exemption is ridiculous, especially when it comes to protecting children
