Now THIS is an elevator panel. Sure it's a bit over the top but it is exceptionally clear and #a11y friendly. Car rental area Minneapolis #ux
Photo of overly dune elevator control panel but the buttons are large and well labeled

Isn't it curious that Unity, Unreal and Godot all use very similar UI for how a UI element is anchored to its parent container? This is based on my work for Unity's UI system, shipped in Unity 4.6, and later copied by Unreal and Godot. I guess it became an "industry standard" :) #gamedev #ui #ux
A chart describing the freeform anchors concept and showing very similar screenshots from Unity, Unreal and Godot.

Header: One game UI anchoring concept to rule them all?

The Freeform Anchors Concept

:
The left, right, top and bottom edges of a UI element have separate anchors. The edges are offset from the anchors in absolute units
while the anchors are tied percentage-wise to the parent container. The anchors are displayed as draggable handles that are pointy, so
they don't overlap when set to the same point. A presets menu shows a grid of the common point and stretch anchor configurations.

Line above 3 screenshot says: Anchor presets with 3x3 presets for point anchors and 1 column + 1 row for stretching

Line above another 3 screenshot says: Pointy draggable anchor handles that can be set to a single point or split apart horizontally / vertically

Psychological research has long shown that cooperation is more motivating and rewarding in the long run than competition. Yet multiplayer games for a long time have focused on competition as the primary game design. It is great to see so called "friendslop" games embracing co-op. #gamedev #ux

Dashboards are some of our most popular content. But we aren’t really setup to support them. We often outsource development or build slightly clunky tools in Rshiny. I wrote a behind the scenes blog on how we’re changing this 👇 medium.com/healthfdn-da... #Dataviz #DashboardDesign #UX

How we’re building in-house capacity to develop data tools

We’ve seen a growing demand for more interactive tools, but we had limited capability to build them. Read how we're changing this

Theres many issues that are just #UX problems that a player might not notice themseves. Gotto figure those out by watching. I hope I once and for all solved the problem with everyone running into spawning enemies. We will see.. #gamedev #indiegame #solodev
