Thrift starting to appear in the #Solent, adding more colour to the slopes and seafronts! #WildflowerHour

Thrift or Sea Pink appearing in amongst grass on a coastal slope. It is a bright pink flower that is ball shaped. Below are railings because the path is at 2 different levels but the lower path isn't visible. There is a shingle beach. The sea looks calm and there is 1 person by the waters edge.

Fancied a mini adventure so hoped over to the Isle of Wight by bus & ferry! The Island Coaster provides lovely views between Ryde & Yarmouth via the south coast and the Needles ☺️ Returned to Ryde via Newport - almost circumnavigated the island! #PublicTransport #Solent

The Needles - some weathered chalk that don't really look like needles. The last one has a red and white lighthouse. Apparently once did once look like a needle but it collapsed and is no longer visible. The mainland is visible in the distance

Another windy weekend in the Solent. Fancied more of a walk than 'proper' birding today, so bus down to seafront and walked east, aiming for 10km. Didn't think to plan a route - turns out walking an almost straight line takes you to Portsmouth to make the distance! #Solent
