My cartoon in today's www.thepost.co.nz/nz-news…. It's Tuesday the 19th of November - the day when the nationwide Hīkoi arrives in the capital, Wellington. An estimate of 30,000 people was given yesterday. I suspect it'll be more. The taniwha has been shaken into action. #NzPol #Maori ✊

This cartoon has been inspired by Virginia Fallon's article in The Post 18th Nov (Monday) and by the film Jaws and its infamous poster where the shark comes up from the deep to grab the woman swimming above. In this rendition the woman is the beehive/parliament and the shark is the Māori legend The Taniwha. It's ready and swimming ferociously to the surface where the beehive is.
