The Slough Darter (Etheostoma gracile)
I thought back to my aquatic ecology courses and finding this species in the slow water of small river bends (meanders) in SE Kansas.

I just finished a pair of little skeletal fish plates using the sgraffito method of carving into the underglaze. I love how they came out!
