This idea was from a panto sketch by teenagers who'd gone out and bought amazing 2nd hand sets of clothes to perform in.
They suggested only 5 new items a year and then seeing pics and reports of all the #fastfashion waste clothing dumped it seemed a no brainer.

Last year I promised myself I would buy no more than five new items of clothing, socks and underwear excepted. I managed that easily, only buying 3 things. I'm sticking to same 5 item limit this year. It does make me the scruffiest Peer, in my still usable but ageing outfits, but who cares?
