Status update related to F1 TV's introduction of stream limits: #F1 #F1TV

STATUS UPDATE

Some of you may have noticed that F1 TV is now limiting the number of concurrent streams, particularly for F1 TV Pro subscribers.

If you’re using MultiViewer with multiple streams, this means you’ll now need an F1 TV Premium subscription for it to work as expected. That said, you can still make the most of your F1 TV Pro subscription by using MultiViewer’s Live Timing feature instead of the Driver Tracker and Data Channel streams.

At this point, the exact streaming limit for F1 TV Pro isn’t entirely clear—we’re hoping to get a better picture as the weekend unfolds. F1 TV also appears to be actively adjusting how these limits are enforced, so we’ll keep you updated as we learn more.

We’re also working on updates to the app, as some users (even those with F1 TV Premium) have reported hitting these limits. From what we've found, F1 TV's "multi view" feature uses a different mechanism to get those streams, and we're working on adding support for that in MultiViewer, too.

MultiViewer now works with F1 TV Premium, allowing users to stream without limits like before F1 TV enforced concurrent stream restrictions. F1 TV Pro users will still face limits, with the exact limit being unknown but expected to gradually drop to a single stream. #F1 #F1TV
