Might’ve accidentally talked way too much about swords in an interview. But it’s true. I’ve always liked swords. Here’s the one my dad made for me as a kid, when I was only about this big. I painted the blade in sparkly silver nail polish to make it shine.

‘How Sir Bedivere Cast the Sword Excalibur into the Water’ (1893-94), an illustration by Aubrey Beardsley for Thomas Malory’s 15th-century Le Morte d’Arthur Aubrey Vincent Beardsley was an English illustrator and author. His black ink drawings were influenced by Japanese woodcuts, and emphasized the grotesque, the decadent, and the erotic. He was a leading figure in the aesthetic movement which also included Oscar Wilde and James McNeill Whistler. Beardsley's contribution to the development of the Art Nouveau and poster styles was significant despite his early death from tuberculosis. He is one of the important Modern Style (British Art Nouveau style) figures.
