I used Photoshop and Snapseed to bring out the highlights of the stars and field.

#ECK #PostProcess #Converge Photos: @rjrock.bsky.social To achieve Rock's "restrained and realistic," I kept the colors desaturated. The blacks may be "crushed" but realistically at night they would be. I used Lightroom photo merge, made masks for minute light and clarity adjustments.

So, l knew what l wanted to do with this edit but there was a skill issue…mine lol.

I tried for ages to find a suitable Google image of a simple easel, but I couldn’t get it to work.

But I know a Dan that can 😉

So, off to my step son and l asked him to use unity (after paying a beer tax of course) to drop a photorealistic easel into the first image and match all the lighting conditions.

Then he spouted gobbledygook about “global illumination, volumetric lighting and spectral highlighting?” and l had my base image.

I then took that new image into an app called Phonto and added the darker capture and with manipulation, l got the angle l needed without losing the quality for it to be positioned on the easel.

I then deleted the background image which left me with just the darker picture at the correct angle which l saved.

Then into Snapseed with the background image and the new darker one at the correct angle was added as a double exposure so l could get it to rest on the easel.

That new completed image was then taken to Lightroom for my usual finishing touches of a slight vignette and a white boarder frame.

I feel like a student entering medical school and doing brain surgery. But, here goes ... I rotated the original pic; colored it, erased some pats, blurred a portion and then tinted it. It's now a scape of farmland in the fall, with threatening skies above. #PostProcess #Converge #ECK

Shockingly, I have a straightforward edit for this week's #PostProcess #Converge challenge. Given two images... one exposed for sky and one for the landscape. My edits in alt. Original image is by Rock @rjrock.bsky.social

All edits in photoshop.

Each image on a layer, masked out the sky on the top layer. Adjust basic tone on each layer.

Touch up edge of mask with attention to allowing more light on the western facing slopes.

Spot removal tool on streaks of light in the sky. They were distracting.

Bright up whites and shadows on the building

Vignette and brush-in darkening of the field in the foreground to put attention further back (the house and sky)
