The focal point of the tsechus are the sacred Cham Dances, which are banned in neighbouring Tibet. Tsechus are large social gatherings, which perform the function of social bonding among people of remote and spread-out villages. Large markets also congregate at the fair locations, leading to brisk commerce.

Punakha district.
A truly stunning bird, even with the crest down. The whole bird is light orange. Its head supports a long crest of orange and black feathers it can open like a majestic crown. The wings and tail are black and white. A very long and think beak.
This one was sitting on a power line, holding an insect in its beak.

The photo is not great but the bird is.
Oriental magpie-robin, Punakha district.
Black head, neck, chest, eyes, and beak. Black and white wings. The rest of the body is white.

I don't know what this was and the cellphone photo sucks (I didn't carry the telephoto lens up to the Tiger's nest).
