FDA held a “hearing” on antidepressants today. Here’s one of their slides. Link to the entire meeting is below. Remember RFKJ’S MAHA report where he said antidepressants are need to go? He wasn’t kidding. Call your electeds and demand RFKJs resignation before he causes even more damage. He must go.
Prof Joanna Moncrieff, University College London FDA hearing, 21st July 2024 Antidepressants do not correct a chemical imbalance or any other underlying biologic abnormality Antidepressants do not work-are barely distinguishable from a placebo in clinical trials They disrupt normal brain chemistry causing a variety of harmful effects Fertility is impaired through sexual dysfunction (which can be persistent) and sperm impairment Other effects include: miscarriage, premature delivery, post-natal hemorrhage, feotal malformations, withdrawal symptoms in newborns (30%) and persistent pulmonary hypertension These effects are independent of the effects of depression (Su et al, 2023) Effects on post-natal development-increased incidence of autism and ADHDA in children (e.g. Dragioti etal, 2019) Conclusion: Antidepressants chemically disrupt our emotions, sexuality and reproductive health in ways that are poorly understood. Advice and research on these drugs is skewed by the pharmaceutical industry marketing and the professional interest to defend antidepressants
