BPCL’s petrochemical project in Andhra Pradesh estimated to cost Rs 1.45 lakh crore

Amaravati, Sep 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) greenfield refinery-cum-petrochemical project near Ramayapatnam Port in Andhra Pradesh is estimated to cost around Rs 1.45 lakh crore. Final environmental clearance for the project is expected to be received by the end of September. This was informed by BPCL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Sanjay Khanna to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday. The Chief Minister urged the BPCL to expedite the commencement of works on the project. He also proposed setting up a downstream petrochemical park in the vicinity of the refinery.

Andhra Pradesh to develop Tirumala as global model of spirituality

Tirupati, Sep 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced on Wednesday that Tirumala will be developed as a global model of spirituality. He said the focus would be on enhancing the experience of pilgrims while integrating environmental conservation, spirituality, service and modern technology. Stating that Tirumala has 89.5 per cent green cover, he stressed the need to protect it. The Chief Minister inaugurated several development initiatives in Tirumala on Wednesday, including the Pilgrims’ Experience Centre at Vaikuntam Queue Complex-I, the modernised SV Museum and 32 electric buses provided by Reliance Foundation and Bharat Biotech.

Two die of lightning as heavy rain lashes parts of Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati, Sep 13 (SocialNews.XYZ) Two people died of lightning in Andhra Pradesh’s Palnadu district as heavy rains lashed parts of the state since Saturday night under the impact of a low-pressure area, officials said. Heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms lashed Narsraopet in Palnadu district. One person each in Petlurivaripalem and Lakshmipuram villages died after hearing the frightening noise of the thunderstorm. The deceased were identified as Nagamma (63) and Mekala Venkayamma (60). Both suspected to have died of cardiac arrest. Heavy rains were lashing Visakhapatnam and Gajuwaka areas. Parts of East Godavari district also received heavy rains.
