1️⃣ the best authors of libraries have 'felt the pain' and are making it better 2️⃣ the 'curse of knowledge' means authors (can) become less insightful over time 3️⃣ a lack of domain expertise IS something you have to offer ... so, contribute to address a pain you have 🙏 roe.dev/ama #ama

i use a oss libs all the time for work and personal projects. i’ve always wanted to contribute to these tools to understand them better, and along the way also maybe prove to myself i’m not an impostor lol

all advice tends towards “contribute to address a pain you have” but this is really tough for me since I am of the belief that the authors know best. they’re the domain experts. why should i go against their design. you know? this predisposition i feel restricts me from being able to confidently contribute to tools.
