A Scaffold at the Gate: Building AI Applications That Can Evolve
A technical reflection on why data scientists need software engineering principles when AI agents write code.
Building applications that scale and evolve is a real challenge. 👹 That's why Janus looks both ways: learning from past engineering lessons while preparing for future change. 🤖 AI needs more than fast code. It needs solid foundations. @towardsdatascience.com towardsdatascience.com/a-scaffold-a...

From Working Demo to Production: Releases, Alerts and Incidents for AI Systems
Your AI system works in a demo. What happens when you change a prompt, the provider hits its quota, or a pod restarts mid-ticket? I ran the reference system as separate services, then on Kubernetes, with a release gate, SLO alerts, guards and incident drills, and measured what held. Here is the design and the numbers.

Tool design for reliable multi-agent crews: preventing coordination failures at the tool boundary
Every fix this cluster has proposed for split-brain, goal drift, and context drift is a discipline — something an agent has to remember to do. Agents are bad at remembering and excellent at doing what a schema requires, which makes the tool boundary the cheapest place to prevent a coordination failure: a tool that cannot express a stale write cannot cause a split-brain. Concrete signatures for compare-and-set state, constraint-carrying handoffs, and staleness-aware reads — plus the three tool shapes that manufacture these failures on purpose.
