As if two straight weeks of fear mongering emails about the big scary union wasn’t annoying enough, now we’re getting sent these 🤡 letters directly to our homes. WE are the union. Not CWA. I am voting Yes, and it’s laughable they thought this was going to convince me otherwise 💅🏻✨ #wotcstaff

Today was my last day as #WOTCstaff, and it’s bittersweet to say goodbye. My two years here have been such an incredible learning experience, and I can’t wait to share what comes next. Thank you all for letting me be a part of your games. Thank you all for trusting me. Now, let’s party! ❤️

As Blake announced on WeeklyMTG today, on Feb 11th you can expect to hear a check-in on Commander with content from me and the Commander Format Panel. To set expectations there will be no bans or unbans, but we do have something we've been working on to share with you then. Stay tuned! #Wotcstaff

For two weeks, arena folks have been getting *daily* anti-union emails from the company fearmongering about how scary unions are. Now, they're sending letters to our homes. The union isn't a third party, WE ARE THE UNION. This doesn't scare me. I am voting YES for #uwotc-cwa! #wotcstaff
A letter on Wizards of the Coast letterhead with the following text:

"May 14, 2026
Dear Xib,

We are writing to you at home because the decision you will soon make is an important one. It is not just about a workplace election. It is about your voice, your future, and the kind of relationship you want to have with the rest of the Wizards organization moving forward.

On June 2nd, the National Labor Relations board will hold an election. You and your colleagues will decide whether you want the CWA to represent you. We know people may look at this issue differently. Some have shared that they prefer to maintain a direct working relationship with leadership, while others are still gathering information or may feel the CWA could play a role. We respect this. What matters most is that every employee has the information they need to make an informed decision and participate in the vote.

We are proud of this team and the work you do every day. Your creativity and commitment have helped make Arena what it is today. The team has consistently met the challenges, supported each other, and delivered a great experience for our fans.

As you consider your decision, it may be helpful to understand how union representation works. If employees choose union representation, the CWA will serve as the employees' representative in collective bargaining with the Company. That process typically involves negotiating over wages, benefits, scheduling, and other terms and conditions of employment. Outcomes are not predetermined and depend on negotiations between both parties. All the benefits and perks you currently enjoy would be on the bargaining table for both parties to negotiate, based on what's most important to them. That means you could end up with more, the same or less than you have now. No union can guarantee what would happen in that bargaining process, which can be lengthy (465 days on average)."

The back of a letter from wizards of the coast

"If employees do not choose union representation, Wizards of the Coast would continue to work directly with employees on workplace matters, just as it does today, with a much greater degree of flexibility than a typically rigid union contract.

There is no single right answer for everyone; this is a personal decision that each of you will make. Our future is stronger when we work together. We believe your voice is strongest when it is heard directly. Not through a third party.

We encourage you to review the information available, ask questions, discuss with those you trust, and most importantly, make your voice heard by voting on June 2.

With appreciation,
John"

FINAL FANTASY IS HERE! It's a very emotional prerelease weekend for me. I wrote a big post with a bunch of photos from the last several years over on IG (text below) and I cried scrolling back through to put it together - what a journey! I'm so proud of the whole team. Have fun. Enjoy ❤️ #wotcstaff

In August of 1993, I started playing Magic. In July of 1994, I started freelancing. And on October 30, 1995, exactly thirty years ago today, I started working at Wizards of the Coast. R&D made me a shirt to celebrate. #WotCStaff
