Après plus de 13 ans d'attente, la suite de World War Z est enfin lancée. Brad Pitt reprend son rôle dans World War Z 2, réalisé par Edward Berger pour Paramount Pictures. Berger est le réalisateur allemand d'À l'Ouest, rien de nouveau et de Conclave. Pitt lui aurait proposé le projet dès le tournage de The Riders, et Paramount a conclu l'accord avec les deux ces dernières semaines. Le scénario est signé Dennis Kelly, et Pitt produit avec Dede Gardner et Jeremy Kleiner (Plan B), Berger étant producteur exécutif. Kelly est notamment le créateur de la série Utopia.
