Along with August 8th being the day that Michael Wittmann rode into oblivion, it is also the day described as the "black day of the German Army" by Erich Ludendorff. He was writing about the 1918 Battle of Amiens and did so to further the Stab in the Back myth about German's defeat in #WorldWar1.
