Yeah, yeah, I know. I clearly have a thing for strong women carrying heavy boxes #WIPSnips #WriteSky #WritingCommunity From Master/Puppet 🦸‍♀️📦

Danny and I down some water bottles--I'm a fan of Crystal Geyser, not so much of Fiji water--and pack the rest into the BOX the grocery store gave us to carry them all. I transform into a muscle-bound, weight-lifting champion version of myself and haul the BOX out of the apartment.

"Well, now I feel like a wimp," he says.

"Feel free to take an end."

"No, no, I wouldn't want to infringe on a woman's right to carry a heavy BOX."

Boys.

Fine. Boys can carry heavy boxes, too. If they must. *sighs* (Just as long as nobody's asking Sunny to do it) Surprising fact: Sunny does not actually believe in Santa Claus #WIPSnips #WriteSky #WritingCommunity From Summer’s Cruel Warmth, Winter’s Gentle Chill 🌞📦

As he starts walking, I have no option but to follow, or else lose what clothing I bothered to bring. "I have news."

"You have my bag." I'm a little shellshocked over it, to be honest.

"Didn't your parents teach you princely things like chivalry?"

My heart flutters at the idea of being the object of his chivalry, yet I find myself saying, "Yes, and didn’t yours teach you to be chivalrous to girls, instead of boys?" Winters are traditionalists like that.

He stops and looks at me, then Daisy. With a sigh, he holds out his hands for the box. She looks like she's going to protest--grr, Flower Knights don't need no stinkin' chivalry!--but decides better and hands it over, only to unhook her staff from her belt and have it at the ready.

Since she's giving off waves of hostility, I open my mouth to thank him, but he interrupts before I can. "You don't want to hear my news?"

"I-I do."

He slings the box over his free shoulder, gripping the HANDLE with one hand, like it's Santa Claus's sack. His gait doesn't show a hint of unbalance due to the poorly distributed weight of the things he's carrying. I scamper after him.
