Rosettes of leaves, each with a halo of shimmering sticky beads which spell death for tiny insects, but they are undeniably beautiful.
And the flowers stems uncurling as they push elegantly upwards.

A survey in a species-rich peat-moss reedland yesterday with abundant Hooked scorpion-moss and Round-leaved sundew. The yellow-orange stakes mark the plants bearing eggs of the Large Copper.

Saw this lovely plant last week on a dry & dusty peat bog last week. Never seen it before & didn't know what it was at the time. Just managed to get a quick photo. A friend I was walking with, found out it was Bog Rosemary. A bit late for #wildflowerhour#wetlandplants@wildflowerhour.bsky.social
Too late for #wildflowerhour and #wetlandplants, but I wonder whatโs the secrets of bog asphodel and bog pimpernel. They both have fluffy hairs on the filament. To avoid nectar robbing by smaller non-pollinators?
Who knows which #WetlandPlants are good at removing phosphates snd ammonia from water? We have the chance to improve local polluted lakes with clever planting. Advice please!
Finally, some more #WetlandPlants growing in a tributary of the North Petteril (Greystoke, Cumbria), which is flowing much better (and cleaner) than the main branch of the river.
