New #Quansheng announced. 10m/6m/2m/70cm Quadband with 0.5 - 1160MHz wide receive. AMF/FM/SSB receive and likely only FM TX, like usual. Also 6m/2m/70cm tribander with the same wide RX. Sadly no 23cm, even on receive. Will be interesting to see what price point these end up on. #hamradio #VHF #UHF

Delving into radio. Picked up a Quansheng UV-K5(8). What's interesting about this radio is it's firmware is flashable, and there is a decent OSS firmware community out there. Currently running this fork; github.com/armel/uv-k5-... #vhf #amateurradio #arrl

A year ago today I took a drive up to High Point State Park in NJ and played radio for a while. It was real windy that day, but I made my first 6m contact while I was up there. Worked a bunch of European stations on 10m too. Gotta make another trip when spring comes! #hamradio #pota #vhf

Cardo & Sena radios are great but range is limited. Not an issue on pavement but when dirt roads, we leave more space between bikes to avoid choking on each other's dust so longer radio range is needed. I just did a test and I think this solution will work. 1/3 #motorcycle #motorbike #moto #vhf #ham
