LA tensions are rising and I canโ€™t tell if USMC are holding DHS back or using them as human shields? If a Marine Vet could tell me what USMC is doing here, Iโ€™d love to know. #Veterans #USMC

Are you an active duty U.S. Marine stationed in Camp Pendleton CA? It's push time, soldiers. You may be getting, or may have already gotten orders to deploy to Los Angeles, a city on American soil. These orders are unlawful and unconstitutional. Obeying them is against your oath and the law. #USMC

The man who was violently beaten by ICE and detained last week is the father of three US Marines. I had previously posted he was a US citizen. He was undocumented, so Iโ€™m correcting that. The video in the post following this one contains an interview of one of his sons. / #USMC

#OTD in 1978, Margaret Brewer became the first female general officer (Brigadier General) in the US Marine Corps. #USMC She had served as the Director of Women Marines (1973โ€“1977), where she played a crucial role in integrating women more fully into the Corps & expanding their career fields.
A black-and-white candid portrait of Brigadier General Margaret A. Brewer (1930โ€“2013), the first woman to achieve general officer rank in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Brewer is captured from the waist up, seated and angled slightly to the right. She is mid-speech with a lively, engaged expression and a slight smile. Her left hand is raised in a gentle, explanatory gesture. She wears a dark Marine Corps service Alpha uniform featuring a crisp necktie and colonelโ€™s "eagle" insignia on her shoulders and lapels, indicating the photo was taken shortly before her historic 1978 promotion. A single ribbon bar is pinned to her chest. Her dark hair is styled in a voluminous, mid-century bouffant.

The background is a simple, bright office setting with a blurred plaque on the wall. The composition is an intimate medium shot that conveys a mood of professional confidence and approachability. This image captures a pioneer whose leadership in integrating women into the Corps remains a landmark in American military history.

Brigadier General Margaret A. Brewer #USMC died #OTD in 2013. She was the first woman to hold the rank of general in the US Marine Corps. Before becoming a general, she served as the Director of Women Marines. The annual Margaret A. Brewer Award recognizes outstanding leadership by female officers.
A black-and-white portrait of Brigadier General Margaret A. Brewer, the first woman to reach general officer rank in the U.S. Marine Corps. She is seated, wearing the formal Marine Corps service uniform with a dark jacket adorned with shoulder epaulets bearing eagle insignia, a collar with oak leaf clusters denoting her rank, ribbon bars, and a tie. Her short, neatly styled hair frames a confident expression as she gestures with her raised left hand, palm open, as if speaking or emphasizing a point. In the background, a wall plaque and a circular wreath or emblem are partially visible, suggesting an official office setting.

three men in a combination of olive-drab green and desert camo outside a beige tent. two have shaved heads, the third has dark hair and sunglasses. they seem to be celebrating a sandwich.
