Snowbirds have been flying the Canadian designed & built Tutor jet for 55 years. Retired from active service in 2000, Tutors remained the last Canadian designed & built jet in RCAF inventory with Snowbirds. Now the era of Canadian made air craft is at an end, an sad day. #TorontoAirshow #Snowbirds

Sadly due to delays, I arrived late for the start of the snow. But I did catch the tail end of the Heritage flight of Spitfire, Hurricane, a Snowbird Tutor jet & a CF-188 Hornet. That Hornet must have been at the edge of falling out of the sky at those low speeds. #TorontoAirshow #HeritageFlight

It is at this point after the CT-133 departs, and the little red jets that could arrived. And we looped back to the start of this series. The Snowbirds last show in Toronto. Thanks for the memories little reds, the airshow will not be same without these stalwarts. #TorontoAirshow #RCAF #Snowbirds

There is always at least one heifer in the sky. This time around it was CP-140 Aurora anti submarine patrol plane. Lucky for all the secret submarines in Lake Ontario, she was not out fishing for any pigboats today, she was out to please the crowd. #TorontoAirshow #LakeOntarioSubs

From the piston age, we travel to the jet age. This time with the CT-133 Silver Star, the Canadian variant of the T-33 Shooting Star. Or at least that's what I've been told since this one was painted in the Red, white and Yank colours for the show. Also note the camera on the nose #TorontoAirshow

But not all flights were beloved WW2 planes or products of the free market. There was a pinko commie jet in the mix. Literally it was pink and built in communist Czechoslovakia, the L-29 Albatross. Sometimes things are a little too on the nose @normal-cr02-metal.bsky.social #TorontoAirshow

Next up was an unsung hero of the second world war. The humble Beechcraft Expeditor. Use for transport, training, navigation and what have you. 1,000s of them were built between mid 1930s and the 1970s. Many still fly today. The RCAF had hundreds of them for many years. #TorontoAirshow
