The Incomer – delightful, strange and heartwarming

The Incomer is a film written and directed by Louis Paxton set on a small Scottish island that is home to a brother and sister, Sandy and Isla, who have lived here, alone, for thirty years. Daniel, played by Domhnall Gleeson, is sent to evict them by his shady boss, Roz, because 'the island is uninhabited.' Isla and Sandy, played with childlike innocence, anger and vulnerability by Gayle Rankin and Grant O'Rourke have been alone since their mother 'left' and their father 'gave himself to the sea.' Their last instructions were to protect the island, to survive and keep incomers from settling here.
