Harris is one of those places that captures the heart, rain or shine. The colour of the water looks gorgeous under overcast skies, glowing turquoise, greens and blues. There is a spot, after driving over the Harris Hills from Lewis, where Luskentyre comes into view in the distance. I look forward to it every time. It takes my breath away and I anticipate reaching the beach.

After a while though, I crave the light. It had been 10 long days of storms and grey before a hopeful forecast. I’d spent each day on the beach, taking it in, but I was ready for a change, and gosh, what a change it was. Rain clouds still clung on in the afternoon sky, threatening and moody, but behind, the light followed. Wind whipped through the dunes, catching on the marram grass, dancing across the sand. I decided to focus on the relationship between dunes, grasses, light, sky and the hills in the distance by composing in portrait.

A thin line of green sea separated the two halves of the image. The light was tremendous, illuminating everything in front on me, weak winter warmth on my face. The grasses began to glow, contrasting with the intense sky above, the ageless, eternal battle between light and dark.

Starting with the first drawings where Emily and Ed' where actual characters ... back in the 2018 days on tumblr I had the characters interact a lot with the readers through questions so some thing might be a bit weird, but it is what it is ! #SizeSky

First clear full body drawing of my main girl, Emily, just waking up and stepping out of bed, still groggy and scratching her head, she's holding a tiny guy in her left hand, Ed', who for the first time had actual specific features, including hair !

Emily introduces Ed' to the reader as she drinks her morning coffee.

Someone said : "I feel like sara would be a good name for her"
I was set on Emily at the time, so with a grimace she stared down at the reader reafirming her name ... didn't know at the time I'd end up with ANOTHER character names Sarah ...

Someone asked : "Hi emily! I was wondering if you could tell us how you came to know ed?"
Resulting in Emily looking closer at Ed' reminicing their first encounter ... it was a joke at the time, but I decided to make it an actual thing.
