I've long known that #SQLServer supports "if exists" when dropping objects. DROP TABLE IF EXISTS dbo.test; It even supports multiple tables, like DROP TABLE IF EXISTS dbo.test1, dbo.test2; But did you know that it applies to DROP COLUMN, too? ALTER TABLE dbo.test DROP COLUMN IF EXISTS col1;
