Man! It’s shawl week for #showmeyourknits and I’m nowhere near done with my very first shawl project. Oh well. A WIP photo will have to do. I really need to have this done when the weather turns because I love it so much :)

I work at a tiny company with about 15 employees. It’s a metal building that can get pretty chilly in the winter. So, one year I made all my fellow employees fingerless gloves for Christmas. It’s so lovely to see something you made be used. #showmeyourknits #knitsky

DK weight wool in three shades of cream/cream twill to make a subtle stripe in the main part.
Pattern was made up on a long car trip to a wedding, to match a new dress. Finished the shawl as we were arriving!
Shawl has outlasted the dress. And tge marriage, for that matter.

Day 7 progress. Close to the halfway mark, I think. Finished the 3rd of 6 skeins today. Knitted 10” so far; have another 2” to go before agile shaping. Wish I could get a better photo of the lace pattern. Can anyone tell what it is? 🧶

For shawl week, the $5000 shawl, so called because I bought the yarn on a tour of Scandinavia 20 years ago and had very little left for souvenirs. Swedish yarn spun from natural colors to give the ombre effect. Simple own design to show the yarn. #ShowMeYourKnits
