The thing that's increasingly sticking in my craw with the #SayonaraLara ending is that most defenses of how it conducts itself are to one degree or another based on the idea that Mari's wants and needs aren't as important as Lara's, presumably because she is superficially more put together.

#SayonaraLara Finished Goodbye Lara. Was a real good show with solid writing, beautiful animation, and really nuanced characters. Last episode wasn't the best but everything thing leading up to it is pretty standout. 8.5/10 and I hope we get an OVA.

And like the whole premise here is just off, Mari's not the fairytale ending being forced upon Lara - *Luca* is! Mari is the one Lara chose! That's Lara's agency! To say nothing about *Mari's* agency, which I think the show ultimately did a genuinely pretty terrible job with.
