Bharat Dynamics gets Rs 811 crore deal to make Anti-Airfield glide bombs for IAF

New Delhi, Sep 23 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Ministry of Defence on Wednesday signed a contract with Bharat Dynamics Limited for the procurement of 160 Satellite Smart Anti-Airfield Weapons (SAT-SAAW) along with associated equipment for the Indian Air Force at a total cost of Rs 810.79 crore under the Buy Indian - Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured category, according to an official statement. The contract was signed in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh. SAT-SAAW is an air-to-ground precision-guided glide bomb which can be launched from aircraft like Jaguar, Hawk & Su-30 MKI, and has the capability to neutralise enemy airfields from a long stand-off range.

Bharat Taxi to operate with zero commission, drivers to get Rs 5 lakh social security: CM Yogi

Under Bharat Taxi, taxi, two-wheeler, and three-wheeler drivers can register with the platform and operate on a zero-commission model. The drivers will also receive social security cover of up to Rs 5 lakh, according to the state government. Telangana: ACB seizes Rs 6.13 crore assets during searches at premises of NIMS official

Hyderabad, Sep 22 (SocialNews.XYZ) Telangana's Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has covered assets worth Rs 6.13 crore in a disproportionate assets case against Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) Additional Medical Superintendent Nori Lakshmi Bhasker. Multiple flats, plots, a Jaguar, an Audi and 517.8 grams gold are among the assets found during the simultaneous searches by the ACB officials on Tuesday at the residence and other premises of the doctor serving at NIMS, a top government-run hospitals in Hyderabad. The ACB said in a statement that a case was registered against Bhasker (56) as he had acquired assets disproportionate to his known sources of income by indulging in corrupt practices and dubious means during his service.

RBI accepts Rs 25,000 crore in 2nd OMO sale amid surplus liquidity

Mumbai, Sep 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Monday accepted bids worth Rs 25,000 crore in the second tranche of its ongoing open market operation (OMO) sales programme, as the central bank continued efforts to absorb surplus liquidity from the banking system. The auction witnessed robust investor participation, with total bids amounting to Rs 84,982 crore, more than three times the notified amount. The strong response highlights sustained demand for government securities despite the RBI's liquidity-tightening measures. According to the auction results, the RBI accepted bids worth Rs 11,512 crore for the 6.10 per cent Government Security (GS) 2031 and Rs 8,758 crore for the 7.95 per cent GS 2032.

Defence Ministry inks Rs 586 crore deal to buy auxiliary power units for T-72 & T-90 tanks

New Delhi, Sep 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Ministry of Defence on Monday signed a contract to procure Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) for Soviet-designed T-72 and T-90 main battle tanks at a cost of Rs 586 crore, according to an official statement. The APU is an alternative source for the generation of electric power for the fire control system, firing circuit, gun stabilisation system and other ancillaries of the tank. The induction of indigenously developed APUs will further strengthen the operational readiness, reliability and sustainability of the Indian Army’s mechanised formations. The contract with Accurate Industrial Controls Private Ltd was inked here on Monday in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh.

PM Modi has increased Kerala’s railway allocation 10-fold to Rs 3,795 crore in FY27: Ashwini Vaishnaw

New Delhi, Sep 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday said that railway allocation for Kerala has increased nearly ten-fold under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government, rising from Rs 372 crore in 2014 to Rs 3,795 crore in FY 2026-27. Sharing details after meeting Members of Parliament from Kerala, the minister said the higher investment is translating into major infrastructure projects, capacity expansion and improved passenger connectivity across the state. "Met with MPs from Kerala. We discussed the development of the railway network in the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has increased the allocation for Kerala 10 times to Rs 3,795 crores in FY26-27.
