A three fingered fingerpost set in upland countryside. It reads:

I half remember that the finger pointing to Rome is in the wrong direction. There are shadows cast by the fingerpost and some fencing visible, so the sun is behind the camera - to the south, meaning the Rome finger is pointing north.

SMALL BOAT WANTED! This is the historic #RiverTrent ford at Littleborough. I'm walking from York to Battle in Oct, largely by Roman Roads. I need to cross on Sat 3rd, & would much prefer a 'ferry' rather than walking around via G'borough. Can you help? See Alt for more. Thank you ❤️ #Hastings960

I'll reach this point in Saturday 3rd August, probably mid morning. It really would be great to cross by boat. I did the same York to Battle walk in 2016 and at this point had to walk around via Gainsborough, which was fine, but meant I missed one of the significant historic experiences on the route. The ford here was genuinely ancient, scene of many important crossing, a multitude of sundry ones, and reputedly at least one mass baptism.

I'd appreciate any help with this very much indeed. Please give me a shout if you can help, or know someone who can. Thank you.
