A very lovely boulder found on the beach yesterday - I have no idea of this one’s geology, maybe a lot of feldspar with quartz? #geology #rocks

There is a necessary wisdom in the give-and-take of natureβ€”its quiet agreements and search for balance. There is an extraordinary generosity. πŸ’š ― Suzanne Simard Common Polypody grows in a shelter formed by mossy rocks. #RockinTuesday #Forest #Fern #moss #rocks #photography #ECK
Several large, rounded boulders dominate the foreground and center of this woodland scene, their rough grey stone surfaces almost entirely blanketed in a thick, vibrant carpet of bright green moss. The rocks are piled together, creating a natural, sheltered alcove between them.
The rocks dominate the center and left of the frame, stacked together with small, dark gaps between them. The vibrant green moss blankets nearly their entire upper surfaces, while the weathered gray and white stone shows through underneath.
Nestled in a sheltered, earthy hollow at the base of the boulders sits a bright green fern (common polypore)with several delicate, feathery fronds fanning outward. The forest floor around it is covered in damp soil, scattered brown autumn leaves, and smaller moss-covered stones.
In the background, slender tree trunks, including a pale white birch, rise into a soft, out-of-focus canopy of green leaves and pine needles in quiet, wooded landscape.
