“Manufacturers will always try to figure out another means of restricting independent repair because it’s a very lucrative market for them,” EFF’s Kit Walsh told @nbcnews.com. Still, the #RightToRepair movement is piling up wins.

We had full-featured software, not web apps begging for subscriptions. We installed games once, not on a lease from a server. If your PC broke, you fixed it. Now it's DRM-ridden software and everything’s a service. Progress? More like digital serfdom. #90sComputing #RightToRepair #WeLostThePlot
This image features a collection of vintage computer equipment stacked together. The pile includes old CRT monitors, beige desktop towers, keyboards, and various motherboards with exposed circuitry and wiring. The components appear aged and slightly discoloured, reminiscent of computer hardware from the 1990s and early 2000s. Some of the towers have open drive bays, showing internal slots and connectors.
