"France passed a single law and instantly unlocked 11 gigawatts of #solarenergy — without using new land. In 2023, France's government mandated solar canopies over all car parks larger than 80 spaces. The scale was enormous: There are 400,000 parking areas across France #ActOnClimate #Renewables

Switzerland mandated in 2023 that all new buildings exceeding 300 square metres of roof area must install solar panels covering a minimum percentage of that surface — the most aggressive building-integrated solar mandate in continental Europe #ActOnClimate #SolarPower #Renewables

"Japan is building a wind and solar hybrid platform in the open ocean — so the two technologies can share a single foundation and generate power around the clock. It produces a more consistent 24-hour electricity output than either technology alone #ActOnClimate #Renewables #ClimateActionNow

#Scotland runs temporarily fully on #windpower, generating over 200% of its electricity demand, a remarkable milestone offering a real glimpse into a future where fossil fuels may no longer be essential. #Renewables cheaper then #oilandgas offering independence from stock exchanges and #DoanldTrump

The solution is right above us. Solar panels on existing buildings, car parks, and along highways generate clean power without sacrificing farmland or wild spaces. Let's use our built world first. #Renewables #Innovation

South Africa has seen a major rise in low-cost renewable energy innovations specifically designed to support off-grid and rural communities. One of the most creative solutions involves repurposing old, discarded satellite dishes into highly efficient solar concentrators. #ActOnClimate #Renewables

Fossil fools may wish to pour a stiff one, grab a seat, and keep the smelling salts to hand…because Britain’s electricity is currently 82% zero carbon…with just one neat trick - #renewables Fossil fuel companies hate it.

10.25 AM. UK National Grid is currently whacking out 65.8% output by wind alone, solar another 23.3%. We are generating 114% of our demand & exporting 10% (4.7GW) to Europe & also replenish our pumped storage supply - using 4%. Fossil fuel is only generating 7.9% of output. #renewables #windpower
