I'm home, just a note on why we own so many guns. After WWI ended the gun industry fought the loss of income by promoting gun ownership by lying. The ad theme has changed over time, from Roy Rogers western guns to today's self protection lie and super gun fake manhood.🧪 #Sociology #Population #Guns

The number for each state is the number of people in that state it takes to equal the United States Senate representation of one person living in Wyoming. It would be easy to equalize, simply count each Senator's vote as the number of people in their state. 🧪 #Sociology #Population #Demography
I don't need to say much more for this one to be understood. Another way of saying it is one person in Wyoming has as much representation in the United States Senate as the number displayed for for each state who live in that state.

Also it seems to me that it would be very easy to implement a constitutional amendment that counted each senator's vote as the number of people reported in the last United States Census, it would only be a little more work for the people who count the votes.

I can't remember the reason the current system was put in place but I really feel changes since then make people having close to equal representation in the United States Senate much more important. I really think these numbers show that the current system is idiotic.

Trump is going on about how things are bad enough in Cuba that it deserves to be invaded. Well life expectancy is a good measure of how well things are going. In the United States Hawaii has our longest life expectancy at 80.0. Our CIA's fact book has Cuba's at 80.1. 🧪💡☠️ #Canada #Population #Science

Here is a graph I intended to post about three months ago. It shows the death rates for ages 20-64 of all races by party by year from 2018 through 2023. 🧪💡☠️ #Sociology #Population #Think #News
The most interesting thing I find in the graph is the differences in changes from 2020, the first year of COVID which was without immunization, and 2021 the first year with vaccine. I guess I should look at that and provide some numbers by party. Let me know if you would like to that.

Fears about #immigration are being fuelled by the major parties & mainstream #media. It’s a myth that the housing crisis is the result of immigration & #population growth. Why migrants aren’t to blame for the #housing and #rent crisis #auspol #auspol2025 solidarity.net.au/highlig….

Why migrants aren’t to blame for the housing and rent crisis – Solidarity Online

The far right wants to exploit frustration with house prices, rent increases and the cost of living and blame them all on migrants.

Trump is not supporting the real reason for food stamps. It is to keep under paid workers alive and workin for wages that make their bosses a lot more money. Why is Trump undoing it? My guess is the Russian brains directing him want to cause chaos in the United States. 🧪 #Sociology #Population

In the United States politics have a strong effect on death rates. While this graph does not show the strongest effect, how health care is paid for, our politics is generally the second strongest factor increasing our death rates.

Population rate vs raw numbers This is a good example of why it is useful to understand the importance of population *rate* and not just look at raw numbers. The first graph shows raw numbers and the second graph population rate. 🧵1/ #ED #Respiratory #Virus #Population #Ottawa
