Squash season for the sheep! 🎃 Squash seeds contain the compound cucurbitacin which is a natural dewormer. We try to get them seeds a few times/week in the fall. Between rotational grazing, squash seeds, and lots of pets we have not had to deworm them this year :) #sheep #natural #plantmedicine

Penny will gladly eat everybody’s leftovers which probably contributes to her being such a resistant girl, having only needed deworming once in her life! Having a special sheep like Penny is important because she can act as a “reservoir” for a small population of untreated worms that will remain in the pasture and prevent the whole flock from facing dewormer-resistant worms in the future.
