Our mission is to make intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) druggable for everyone. Our first tool, SpinForecast, developed by @bindresearch.org with @ucl.ac.uk, takes a step towards that goal by dramatically speeding up #NMR assignments for IDPs. 🍝🧲🖥️

Check out the first tool from Bind Research: SpinForecast. #NMR is one of the most powerful tools for probing the atomic behaviour of IDPs. But the data can look like a Jackson Pollock painting: a sea of peaks that we must painstakingly match to positions along the protein backbone.

📢 New preprint alert! How do proteins enter mitochondria? We uncovered a surprising mechanism at the mitochondrial entry gate—using #NMR, in vivo single-particle tracking, yeast experiments, and MD simulations to crack the code. www.biorxiv.org/content/1…. #StructuralBiology #Mitochondria 🧵 1/8

A dynamic displacement mechanism drives protein import into mitochondria

Most mitochondrial proteins are produced in the cytosol and imported through the translocase of the outer mitochondrial membrane (TOM) to reach their final destination. Although this protein entry gat...

I am sending you all my best wishes with this Christmas pilus from bacterial type II secretion system, naturally decorated by calcium. Cannot resist to show it again. The structure is solved by combining #NMR #cryoEM doi: 10.1038/s41564-017-0041-2, its dynamics is studied here rdcu.be/bZuX3
