Neuroscientist Patricia Goldman-Rakic would have been 89 years old today. Her work in the 1970s showed us on a molecular level how working memory functions through loop firing and local suppression. Sadly, she passed away in 2003 at just 66 years old. tinyurl.com/5n7evkh6 #WomenInSTEM #NeuroSky 🧠

🧠Injecting SARS-CoV-2 spike protein RBD into the brains of mice caused depressive behavior by lowering astrocyte Cx43 and disrupting gap-junction communication. Treating the mice with Celecoxib or restoring Cx43 levels reversed these effects. buff.ly/Q2RHx3h #medsky #neurosky #psychsky🛟🧪😷
COVID and Depression. Injection of spike protein RBD into a mouse's brain causes astrocyte Cx43 decrease and stops astrocyte connections which leads to a sad face. Giving a pink pill that is celecoxib turns it to a happy face.
