I know I gripe about #modeltrain & #boomers who gatekeep and ruin #modelrailroad for hobbyists but I really love how on #bsky there's an entire community of #queer #furries who are into #trains and I find far greater sense of community with them than I ever did for my little #autism hobby. ♥️🌈🏳️‍⚧️

After many months of work, the large 1/20 scale 4-4-0 is complete! I custom painted it, designed the decals for/applied them, and did extensive weathering to match real life examples. #modeltrain #train

Sometimes I see #modeltrain weathering so good that if it wasn't for the fingers i'd think it was real. I don't think I ever get bored by how good so many modelers are at making tiny thing look big.

Does anyone else just have a folder of other #modeltrain layouts where instead of doomscrolling you just look at them and fawn a little at their majesty? I have so many of these photos but a dozen or so just never cease to amaze me. This is an outdoor G scale garden layout btw.

New #modeltrain day. As my usual M.O. I got a worn out #train and need to print new siderods, new trailing truck, new trailing wheels and redo the entire main shell to look like the Southern Pacific A6 Atlantics.

Finally got Sparky the steeplecab mounted on a proper 8-wheel chassis, with the help of some Meccano and a very thin sheet of cardstock Need to make it more rigid and add a massive weight box to the middle, but, it works without making the loco excessively big! #modelrailroad #modeltrain #hoscale

Are there any other #train or #modeltrain folks who like a locomotive precisely because it looks kinda bad? Like there's just something so derpy about it that you just have to love it? Which locomotives are like that for you?
