This is the radar forecast for midnight in southern Manitoba. I may be sleeping in the bathtub tonight. #MBStorm
A radar image showing an enormous storm front spanning north-south across Manitoba as it sweeps west to east across the province. A wall of red indicates a wave of intense storms that are going to sweep the top of Lake Winnipeg down to Grand Forks, ND.

If you’re thinking of driving Highway 8 in Manitoba between Gimli and Riverton, don’t. I’m home safe and sound, but it wasn’t fun. #mbstorm

Driving through Manitoba’s southern Interlake region. It was hit extremely hard last night with rain and thunderstorms. Just west of here got over 200 mm of precipitation so fields are flooded. I’m not sure if this cut is intentional or just a point of weakness. #MBStorm

Some views from my drive home from Winnipeg today. The Interlake got hammered by rain yesterday, especially in the Rockwood, Oak Hammock, Saint Andrews areas. Everything that is water in this photo should be fields. #MBStorm
Looking across from the northbound lane of the highway at water in the median and water on the field on the other side, isolating the southbound lane of a highway under a blue sky
Looking towards the town of Stoney Mountain. Everything is water except for a thin strip of grass that is probably the upper dyke of a ditch. You can see some of the town buildings on the horizon under partly cloudy skies.
Looking over a flooded field that is reflecting the brilliant light of the sun against dark clouds on the horizon
Looking at the overfull Wavey Creek that is receiving water from fields all around it under a partly cloudy sky. The creek is really just a straight agricultural drain but it’s as wide as a river right now. The field on the other side of the dyke along the horizon is also flooded.
