Can't really do patch justice on winter work days like this, but lovely to get outside and watch the sunrise 😌 (especially after a couple of days failing to get out early!) #LowCarbonBirding
Mostly cloudy sky with a few breaks. It is civil twilight heading towards sunrise. Part of the sky is a deep pink. There is a beach bending round with beach huts and then flats in the distance. The flats are on higher ground but only slightly. It is a slope rather than a cliff. There is a road on the top too so car headlights are visible.

The Solent is shrouded in mist/fog this evening. Mainly a brisk walk but had hoped to trip over a Wheatear - soon 🤞 #LowCarbonBirding
Looking west along a coastal path. There is thick mist or fog on the seaward side reducing visibility. To the north, inland, visibility was fine. The path is tarmac and lined with benches. Beach is vegetated shingle. It is sunny
Thick mist or fog looking out towards the invisible Isle of Wight. Blue skies and sun above the low cloud. The tide is out

Most autumn birding has been on patch so hadn't thought to try the scrub and 'cliffs' at Lee-on-the Solent. Lovely lemon-yellow Willow Warbler and 4 Sanderling suggests maybe I should... #LowCarbonBirding
Very dry looking cut grass with Amy's shadow as she takes the photo. Two black benches are visible and two patches of gorse in front of those. The sea looks calm and Cowes, Isle of Wight is visible. It is sunny with a little light cloud

Just in case there aren't enough photos of this lovely bird here's my Wryneck photo. Just happened to be walking past Turf Lock, didn't know it was still here - so not really twitching is it? First I've ever photographed so happy it stayed on and behaved so well. #DevonBirds #LowCarbonBirding

Headed to York to visit Strensall Common & hopefully the Dartford Warbler. No sign sadly but it was great to hang out with other birders & to hear that the target bird had been seen associating with Stonechats & feeding a juvenile in previous days. #LowCarbonBirding 🪶 1/2

Lovely start to the day with a calm sea and slightly light after 5pm! Highlights from walks of 44 White-fronted Geese through the Solent and 168+ Great Crested Grebes off Lee-on-the Solent #LowCarbonBirding #PWC2026
Early morning by the sea. There is a little mist - over the road and inland - but it's mainly clear with calm water. There is grass at the top of the slope and a row of black benches. Below is a path and then costal vegetated shingle. Photo looking west where beach huts and trees are visible
Evening Twilight light on the beach. There is shingle and the Isle of Wight is visible. Some of the sky is still yellow orange. There are grey clouds

Tired but happy y'day after birding at Frampton Marsh #LincsBirding Great place for a landlocked, wader starved birder. 17 species of wader seen, 8 in the clips below. Best for me was Wood Sand refind & a Whimbrel on the shore of The Haven, Boston along the Charles 3rd footpath #LowCarbonBirding 🪶

Beautiful day in the Solent! Highlights at Titchfield Haven were Siskin, more Avocets back, Black-headed & Med Gulls filling the soundscape, singing Chiffs & Blackcaps, Butterflies & vocal Marsh Harriers ☺️ Lovely day for a longer walk (14.5km) #HantsBirds #LowCarbonBirding
Almost clear skies with few clouds. Isle of Wight in the distance mainly looking dark green as that part of the islands appears to have few houses (at least near the coast) until Cowes with its many white flats. The sea is calm and some shingle visible.
