Treating AI as infallible sidelines the knowledge and experience of the people living the issues. Human expertise cannot be substituted. #AI #LivedExperience
Graphic featuring a small humanoid robot sitting alone on a wooden bench inside a building, looking down with its hands together. The background shows red curved industrial tiles stacked outdoors. At the top, white text reads “REAL HOPE. REAL CHANGE.” The headline in bold white says “AI IS NOT INFALLIBLE”. Below, the quote reads: “There is a temptation to regard any judgment made by something labelled as AI as somehow infallible or preferable to on-the-ground human experience and knowledge. But they are just as fallible and multiply their fallibility in their systems.” A circular photo of Natalie Bennett appears near the bottom left with the caption “Natalie Bennett, Green Party Peer”. The Green Party sunflower logo and party name appear at the bottom centre, along with a legal promoter line in small text.

When researchers ignore/exclude the #knowledge and #LivedExperience of the most impacted and the sickest, they often miss the mark entirely. When narratives around chronic pain center around “lifestyle choices” and brain retraining, we’re only adding to the patient blaming/stigma/minimization. 2/
