Interesting information.

Our photograph captures a peaceful family of swans gathered at the edge of our calm local river the Barrow. The still water, tinted with cool shades of blue and turquoise, fills most of the image, its surface broken only by gentle ripples that spread outward from the birds.

Two adult mute swans, bright white against the darker water, are the focal point. On the left, one swan floats quietly with its elegant neck curved into a graceful “S” shape, its orange beak tipped with black pointing downward as if watching the water below.

On the right, the second adult swan faces away from the viewer, its long neck held tall and straight, giving the impression that it is keeping a watchful eye over its family.

At the water’s edge are four fluffy cygnets. Their soft grey-brown feathers contrast with the brilliant white of the adults. Three stand close together, appearing to explore the shallow water or preen themselves, while the fourth rests lower to the ground, tucked comfortably beside the shoreline.
