Mailo – The fast KDE email client
Computer assisted development is fun! I could probably never imagine writing my own email client for KDE! But here we go – let me introduce **Mailo** : Mailo is an IMAP mail client focused on speed and safe message viewing. It caches headers, bodies and the folder tree in SQLite for instant, offline-capable browsing and full-text search, and renders HTML mail in a sandboxed QtWebEngine view that blocks all remote content until you opt in. Built for KDE. ## KDE-only email client, blazing fast! My baseline for user experience is high. That translates to 20ms responsivity (with some exceptions where I allow up to 100ms). That’s why Mailo is blazingly performant and fast, prioritizing user experience before any other tasks. Multiple threads work in your favor, where you don’t wait for UI to redraw. No stubborn delays when working with Mailo, forget Thunderbird and its slow core. I have been testing Mailo for a couple of weeks now optimizing it for speed, security and great UX. Mailo is open source under LGPL v3 and distributed as both DEB package (tested under KDE Neon) and AppImage for generic working binary (KDE-only, but feel free to test on other distros).
