The surface of the rover, as viewed by navcam-left on the mast, looking back and down over the mostly white finished body upon which large accumulations of rusty coloured grit and dust have gathered around cable runs and other fixtures on the deck.
Toward the back of the rover, the early afternoon Jezero sun casts sharp shadows across the RTeG radiator fins.

Comme vous l'avez sûrement vu, sur #Mars, le rover #Perseverance a découvert dans le cratère #Jezero des roches très surprenantes. Mais attention, cette nouvelle n'est pas une preuve de vie. Ces signaux peuvent aussi s’expliquer par des processus purement géologiques.

Gros plan d’une roche martienne photographiée par l’instrument SHERLOC/WATSON du rover Perseverance. On distingue une surface brun-rouge parsemée de petites taches sombres et de zones plus claires, avec des nodules et structures irrégulières caractéristiques des sédiments du cratère Jezero.

Instead of a shallow even depression in the rock from abrasion the low rock outcrop has shattered into large and small chunks, and the marks from the bit seem to indicate that there was movement of the rock, the rover, or both during the process.

The rover holds up it's abrasion bit, held in the grey coloured tool head on the rover's arm, for mastcam-z to photograph.
The brass coloured abrasion head has big blotches of red Mars dust on its surface.

An image of the abraded rock. Debris around the abrasion comprises large rust coloured flakes, granules, and dust - more red than the surrounding undisturbed rock surface.

This is a very close up view of just over a quarter of the abrasion. The rock very much resembles old broken red brick in colour and texture.
