Green Hornet Comics #9 (1942). On the cover, the Green Hornet and Kato confront a villain before he can fully draw his gun. But we can see in a mirror that there is another man with a gun sneaking up on our heroes.

Stuntman #2 (1946). The covers to this series were designed to look like a thick book turned slightly to the side so you can see both the cover and the spine of the book. The portion meant to look like the spine of a book has an image of Stuntman with the words "By Simon and Kirby" beneath. The portion meant to be the cover shows Stuntman jumping from the back of a motorcycle to what looks like a racing car with two men inside. One of them appears to be holding a woman captive and this is all taking place in a tunnel.

Drawn by Kirby with inks by Wood, and written by brothers Dick & Dave Wood (no relation to Wally). The top of the cover is a close up of an astronaut's face, then it's the title, and the bottom is an alien landscape with a rocket ship landed in the middle & several astronauts walking on the surface.

Back cover to The Jack Kirby Collector #37

The back cover of this issue is a watercolor piece that's been languishing in the Kirbys art storage unit for years, and Mike Thibodeaux was kind enough to send us a copy when he came across it. Again, Jack uses color like no one else, and his sense of design in the vehicle this character is riding shows his love of elaborate giz-mos. We suspect this was a piece he knocked out during some idle time in the mid-1970s; not his finest work by any means, but a fascinating curiosity nonetheless.

Fantastic Four Annual #1 is my favorite annual ever. I love how Jack Kirby portrayed Atlantis and Namor's invasion of New York. #JackKirbyMonth

Fantastic Four Annual #1 (1962), which features the FF versus Namor the Sub-Mariner. The cover shows Namor on his throne with the FF held in a clear prison. It also teases an appearance by Spider-Man and a Gallery of Villains.
