Continuing with #ItaliaGB, there is an Alcione next.
What we got here however is a merge of two 1973 Supermodels (raised pannel lines crude moulds) with unnumbered parts. The shiny new box offers either the single and twin finns version and throws in some new cartograf decals.

I made a start with the 1/72 F-104S. Hasegawa has you sticking forward and rear subassemblies to each other, but I read about fit problems that way so I've gone about it differently as seen below. Also taxying 104s usually had flaps lowered so I've cut them out as well. #histscalemodels #italiagb

I oficially suck in masking. This is quite problem if I don't remember how i mixed this particular shade of grey. I just mixed and mixed... Until now, it was quite good work, I think... Oh, well. #histscalemodels #ItaliaGB

I think I quite managed to repair all the mistakes I made during the last several sessions and also today. I will see if the top grey keeps the unified shade when dry. I am afraid to touch it again, but I have to yet add the anti-glare stripe in front of cockpit #ItaliaGB #histscalemodels

Mostly just parts clean up for now, but also tiny distributor scratchbuilt. Still need to make a fuel pump, coil and steering box. Testing the limits of my eyesight and big fingers, that is for sure!

Marker lights refilled with Mr Surfacer - wet sanded after drying overnight. Looks better, need dry weather to re-prime.
Going for blue + red interior like this picture of real one recently up for sale.

On the third try, I got the paint somewhat airbrushable... at this point, everything everywhere was orange, so I had to sand back non orange parts and repaint them by hand... I have no idea what colours did I use few days ago, since all seems different shade now 🤯 #ItaliaGB #histscalemodels
