National parks were not 'pristine wilderness'β€”they were home. This 1951 photo of Blackfoot leaders with government officials is a stark reminder of Indigenous displacement. These lands were stewarded for millennia, yet their history remains erased. #IndigenousHistory #LandBack

This rare 1912 photograph features the Native North American couple, Satwika and Katkwachsnea. Adorned in traditional attire and jewelry, they embody their cultural identity and pride. This image offers a glimpse into the Indigenous heritage and way of life of that era. #IndigenousHistory

The only thing Columbus discovered was that he was lost. Native peoples were here first, and their history should be taught truthfully. It's time to honor Indigenous voices and dismantle the myths. #IndigenousHistory

Christopher Columbus didn’t "discover" the New Worldβ€”he invaded it. His arrival in 1492 led to the enslavement, exploitation, and devastation of Indigenous peoples in the Americas. It's time to confront the truth and honor those who resisted. #IndigenousHistory

This image is a chilling testament to the mass extermination of bison in America. In the 19th century, millions of buffalo were slaughtered to deprive Indigenous people of their livelihood. This brutal face of colonialism is etched in history, yet its effects are still felt today. #IndigenousHistory

The true founding fathers of America were Indigenous leadersβ€”Chief Joseph, Sitting Bull, Geronimo, and Red Cloud. They bravely defended their lands, rights, and people against colonization. Their courage and legacy are the real foundation of this land’s history. #IndigenousHistory

Between 1879–1918, the Carlisle Indian Industrial School was part of a U.S. policy to forcibly assimilate Native children, erasing their identity through abuse and separation. Of 10,000+ students, only 158 graduated. 500+ children died in such schools. #IndigenousHistory
