#Imbolc is a Gaelic festival marking the beginning of spring, held on 1 February. A time of celebration and ritual, often honouring Brighid, the goddess of the hearth Mary Delany, Galanthus Nivalis, Snowdrop, 1777 #WomensArt

Happy #Imbolc, ushered in by Brigid and her hare. Nature is stirring, there’s a full moon. The winter is ebbing away. The seeds scattered last year are waking up. Pat yourself on the back , you’ve made it through another winter.

Happy St. Brigid's Day! Today marks the end of winter, spring is stirring. St. Brigid is Ireland's matron saint, not as famous as St. Patrick, but she could turn water into beer. And when a man insulted her, she made his eyeballs implode. Celtic goddess, patron of healers & poets. #Imbolc #fullmoon

Tradition holds that Faughart, is the birthplace of Ireland’s iconic matron saint Brigid.

Imbolc Blessings Everyone! Welcome back some light, look for the start of Spring. Five years ago we were celebrating in Carnac and I got to meet the Geant de Manio, a 6.5m, benign collossus in the Breton forest. It's a good day for making megalithic plans for 2025. 🏺🕯️ #StandingStoneSunday #Imbolc

This #caturday we woke up to snow. The cats are taking full advantage of the Human heated seating 👣 while I sort emails. Bluebell is here. Look into her eyes. She wishes you comfort, serenity and strength of purpose in these dark months (and many little treats) #catsofbsky #imbolc #photooftheday
